Allergic Reactions
Dust mites don’t bite, but their allergens cause clear symptoms such as sneezing, itchy eyes, nasal congestion, asthma attacks, or eczema flare‑ups. When bedding is not fully protected, exposure increases while you sleep.
At MiteGuard Rx, our mattress, pillow and quilt protectors to reduce this exposure. By fully encasing bedding items, our products interrupt the contact between you and mites, helping reduce symptoms and improve sleep quality.
Dust Mite – Allergic Reactions
House Dust Mites don’t have a stomach and they secrete special fungi and enzymes that pre-digest food. When the food is digested, it becomes faeces that still contain the enzymes. This can be a source of allergic reactions when in contact with human skin or when inhaled. Household dust mites produce nearly 2000 faecal particles and a larger number of partly digested dust particles that are infested with the enzymes. Allergic reactions could include inflammation of the nasal passages, causing facial pressure and pain or swollen, bluish skin under the eyes. This can even contribute to asthma and you may experience wheezing, coughing, facial pressure or a severe asthma attack.
